Import Operations Supervisor - New York - $70k - $80k + Bonus
** Must Have Previous Import Supervisor Experience **
First Choice are currently recruiting for an Import Operations Supervisor for a rapidly growing company based near JFK. They have had exceptional growth over the last 5 years and are now looking to expand their team with driven individuals looking to take their career to the next level.
Essential Duties:
- Experience of all Import procedures and documentation (A-Z).
- Responsible for overseeing training and development of a team of operators.
- Problem solve outside of normal job functions to support clients.
- Negotiate rates with shipping vendors.
- Book freight with carriers and consolidators and obtain freight rates.
- Ensure timely delivery to carriers consolidators, packing depots, costing invoicing and collection of correct charges.
The ideal candidate will also have:
- Experience overseeing a team within a freight forwarder
- A high level of energy and a "can-do" positive attitude
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Cargo wise experience is preferred
